Actor Corey Feldman, who has claimed to have been abused as a young actor, has joined forces with Team USA Volleyball player Sarah Powers-Barnhard to give their united voice to supporting the upcoming vote for the Child Victims Act. Over 76% of New Yorkers support the effort to reintroduce a law which provides an extended amount of time for victims of sexual abuse to bring to trial a case against their abusers. The present Child Victims Act would give the survivors until the age of 50 to come forward and testify against their abusers. Victims of Criminal sexual acts would have until they reach the age of 28. There are more than 40,000 victims of child abuse in New York every year, so the voices of celebrity in support of such a bill are essential alongside citizens of the Empire State.
